KNOW-HOW

The flexible way of soil compaction.

Single-drum compactors with vibration and oscillation

The benefits of oscillation and vibration are combined in single-drum compactors equipped with VIO drum. These compactors allow one or the other technique to be applied, depending on the nature of the soil and operating conditions.

Simple handling

Switching from vibration to oscillation mode is effected at the simple touch of a button – even during compaction – when working, for instance, in the vicinity of sensitive buildings which might sustain damage caused by excessive vibrations during the compacting operation.

Broader range of applications

Single-drum compactors with VIO drum can be used for a large variety of applications in soil construction, including the stabilization or compaction of a subgrade. In oscillation mode, the single-drum compactor’s own weight is acting on the soil all the time, which results in a faster increase in density. In addition to that, the technique is gentle on buildings, sensitive technical facilities or underground supply lines in the vicinity of the job site. Sandy soils, on the other hand, are preferably compacted in vibration mode.
